But, what to do with said voucher?  That’s the real question. Well, you could check out our favourite Android apps for a start, and see how you get on… If you like the sound of any of them, head over to the Google Play Store.

So without further ado, in no particular order, we proudly present our Top Five Apps of the Year.

Eventim

A superb way of keeping up to date with gigs and events going on at your favourite venues, like the Phones 4u Arena, for example. Much more than just a way to buy tickets to shows, it will analyse your interests – recommending upcoming gigs and alerting you to when your acts are about to go on tour.

FastConnect

When this little beauty ambled into our lives, it turned our world upside down. Set up and sign in just once, and from there on in every time you’re in an area support by The Cloud, you’re automatically connected to the internet – it’s all in the name.

Duolingo

Summer seems like a distant, hazy memory now, but that doesn’t mean you need to neglect the opportunity to learn another language. Forget the expensive training programmes and check out Duolingo, for the fastest, cheapest and easiest method of achieving bilingual status.

ASOS

Do you know what’s almost as exciting as Christmas? The January sales. Get there first and beat the crowds, without even leaving the comfort of your own home. The ASOS app is a must have this Christmas, with two undeniably redeeming features. It’s eventually available for Android and it’s completely free.

True or False?

This one really does exactly what it says on the tin. It is in essence designed to pit your knowledge against a 50/50 decision, but it’s amazingly addictive and kept us occupied for hours. Check it out for yourself, but prepare to lose track of an awful lot of time.
