Shoot-your-mouth-off-competitionPost

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED – THE WINNER WAS EMMA CLARKE WHO PICKED UP A MOTOROLA DEFY FOR HER INFORMATIVE AND DOWNRIGHT USEFUL TIP. FEEL FREE TO KEEP ON CHIPPING IN WITH YOUR VIEWS, ALTHOUGH THERE ARE NO FURTHER PRIZES ON OFFER. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS!

Greetings phone-lovers! Being the frequent visitors to our virtual News & Community compound that we know you are, you’ll be aware that we bust our balls on a daily basis to bring you top quality mobile news, views, reviews and occasionally abuse. And because sometimes, we can be nice, listening-types, we’ve provided a comment facility for you to chip in with your two-penneth worth. Heck, we even reply sometimes, if we like the cut of your jib.

However, we’ve noticed that a load of you only get involved when we’re giving stuff away, which is fair enough (who doesn’t want to bag some free stuff?), but we want that to change and get you lot out there having your say on the phone-based guff we lovingly create just for you.

So, if you disagree with what we’ve said about a particular phone, have any helpful tips and cheats other readers might find useful or just want to call us a bunch of know-nothings, get in touch using the comments facility below the handset review you agree or disagree with. To give you a bit of an incentive, we’ll be giving away a brand-spanking new Motorola Defy to the most informative, insightful or amusing reponse with the winner announced at the end of this month.

Now’s your chance to have your say, so get typing!

Here,s a top tip. Make your friends think you have an expensive iphone by saying-”what”, or “I can,t hear you” when using any old phone

  • Emily Sharp

I hate how Apple rip everyone off in regards to the price of the iPhone.

They’re not exactly superior to the other smartphones on the market (HTC handsets and Android OS perform just as well, if not better in some respects) yet you’re still looking an extra couple of hundred pounds in order to bag yourself one.

    Madness!

    • Katinka Lug

      Daring, actually they are better.
Apple are the innovators, leaving others to catch up.

  • donna chapman

i would like to know who came up with this sony erricsson x10 mini, its a load of ****, it might be small and fit into near enough any pocket or bag, but it lacks bluetooth missing the sharing of songs and photos through one simply thing! its the most important thing when buying the phone. so what a big mistake leaving it out :(
oh i personally thing the setting and **** are to weird and hard to figure out. pooooooopssss!!!!!!!
give me the old sony erricssons back they might have fallen to bits and the chargers may give up, but you knew what you were getting then.

  • jaycee2

ok, shootin my mouth off and here goes it….
have to say first off, i do like your reviews in that i find them helpful and informative, in a laid-back style.
but tbh, i’d really like to see a bit more objectivity, in that i’m never sure whether you (or any other site for that matter) have a sort of vested interest in the reviews you do and i always wonder if you do give some more favourable reviews on that basis?
i’m asking because if you want to get people involved and to stay involved, they have to trust what you write, is all…and if you haven’t got any bias, be fearless and say so :)

  • philwc

I must say, of late, android based phones are getting better and better. I think the HTC Desire HD surpassed the iPhone when it launched. It offers so much more, and much cheaper! Including apps and everything else of course.

Now, with the next generation of android phones coming up, with the Tegra platform (Dual core processors FTW!) with pretty amazing graphics capabilities, combined with the Android platform that is maturing faster than you can shake a stick at, we’re in for a pretty exciting few months.

Get ready for Honeycomb & Ice Cream – you know they’re going to be epic!

As for which phone I’d go for now? Either the Desire HD or Nexus S… Just can’t make up my mind….

  • Gareth Hughes

after glueing your phone to your head to impress your friends with a lady gaga type phone hat you’ll find everyday washing up liquid is the best to help get it off :)

    • GLEN BAILEY

I personally think a hedGe trimmer is easier, blood looks nice like a dress!

  • Stephen Padgett

Battery life does not seem to fugure highly on most new phones. Give us bigger batteries please.

  • Stephen Padgett

Note to self – spell-check before posting.

  • C Rustam

I lurve all the scratch/water/sand/shock resistant stuff on the ad…but what i’d like to know is how good the reception is…how many megapixels the camera is…does it let you skype/msn/facebook ..does it have apps…i’ll have to mosey on down to ur stores to check it out! ( “,)

  • David Maunder

well… all i can say is smartphones… really.. i mean most of my friends have them and 1 of them has the sony erricson x10 mini. she loved it at the beginning but then it started 2 **** up… :/ she couldn’t listen 2 music without her earphones :/ they should just have the normal touch screen type of phones not trying to beat every single phone out there. its an amazing smart phones but it looses it by having only 5mp camara.. :/ i say stick to the basics until they acctually know how to work them right.. :D

  • lisa oliphant

Lisas rant on handset sony erricson c905: Instore after a great sales pitch by a great friendly sales assistant From phones 4 u I purchased this phone, at first it was great but then started reseting itself so had to be sent back which staf…f were briliant with aranging, it was replaced with a refurbished handset wich I now hav but after my waranty ran out my 8mp camera (wich was the main attraction) stoped working and now My speaker has gone so I can no longer hear incoming calls. My overall rating of this fone is 1/10. Im now the not so proud owner of a fone I can only txt on and use internet. My experience with phones 4 u was 10/10 staf helped everyway pos while I was covered.
My word of advice: stay away from this phone!

  • JB

Top Tip – if you want an Android phone, make sure it’s not a Motorola you go for. Timely updates to the OS just don’t happen – they publish an absurdly late date for the release, then miss it, publish another, miss it… They’re still failing to deliver a promised update to 2.2 for the Milestone even though 2.3 is all but released by Google.

  • michele smith

what is with the new micro-sim that were being robbed with by apple for the 4g and the i-pad,what a total scandal.if a ordinary sim was good enough for 3g and all the others whats the big deal now,i just hope and pray that all the other phone companies dont follow suit! just another way to skim cash off you they,re sold unlocked then you have to buy one of these,Why!!!! theyre expensive enough.although a few sneaky peeps say cutting down an ordinary sim does the trick dont know if i,d wanta try it with a few hundred quid of kit

  • http://community.phones4u.co.uk/?intcid=Headers_NewsandCommunity Dean Quinn

    Hey Folks,

Just a quick jot to remind you that if you’re leaving a comment to “Shoot Your Mouth Off!“, then please put it under the review of the handset you’re talking about and not here.

If you aren’t commenting on a specific handset, then by all means leave your comment here, but if for example, you’re posting about the HTC Desire, then leave your musings underneath the review of the HTC Desire.

All contributions left under this post will be moved to where they should be. You’ll still be in with a chance of winning the Motorola Defy if you did comment here – it just makes the job spotting your contributions easier if you leave them in the right place!

Cheers people, and keep shovelling your views our way!

  • Noel Breaks

I’m sick of 24 month contracts, for all phones, i’m sick of 18 month contracts at that, bring back the 12 month contract as standard!

  • Jackie Cox

I have the most basic LG mobile phone. It literally just has a few applications because all I need it for is to text and make calls. It is spot on for someone like myself and a bargain as the phone cost £9.99 on Pay As You Go.

  • Grant

Don’t get me wrong, the iPhone 4 is a very appealing piece of Kit, however it’s features aren’t “revolutionary” and it’s really not worth its extortionate price tag considering it’s mostly old technology being “re-invented”.

  • David Taylor

How many of us use more than 10% of the power on these smart phones (how many use more than 10% of our brain) more like 10% of people use their phones to there full potential.
Buy basic on a good plan and reap the benifits of not worrying about losing it on the bus.

  • Rheron

you can buy pre cut down sims from ebay for much cheaper, mine works great and i dont need to pay £25 for an orange microsim

  • K. Barrow

Why do apple call it the iphone ???? lets face it, its just an ipod touch with a phone built in.
Some cars have phones built in ………….. what do they call them ?

Oh yeh thats a point ………….I must get in my phone and drive it to the local take away.

  • kayleigh white

I want to shout my mouth off about the iphone4 but you do not have a review page for me to do this, so here goes…iPhone4 is a very advanced phone and i recommend not touching it with a barge pole on pay as you go. I purchased it from a well known company and was told i would have “X” amount of FREE internet usage every month for a year – great i thought. I accessed the internet 4 times just to check my emails, checked my top up and it was all gone (all £30). Took my iphone4 back into the well known network company and the guy went through the iphone4′s history. I had only used the internet 4 times and it only totalled about 15 minutes – but they were telling me i had used all my FREE internet for a year in just 15 minutes of Internet access. I topped my phone up again the next day – again by £30 and within 10 minutes it was gone again. Took the phone back to the company and the guy checked the phone again and saw i had not accessed the internet. I was later told that i owed them money because i had used all the Years free internet and MORE in just 15 minutes and i still owed more money so the next time i top up (lost £60 already) they will be takeing it back again!. Guy told me these iPhone4′s are so advanced that if you accidently press the “mail” button and then cancel it straight away it would eat your credit. So over all review of the iPhone4 on Pay As You Go is about 2 out of 10. Great HD Display but i would NOT recommend buying this on PAYG if you access the internet a lot. I ditched the iPhone4 and bought the iPhone 3GS – Much better but still has an internet issue as to eating your credit! Beware and never believe everything phone sales people tell you, they are just after the sale.

  • PHILLIP WANSTALL

I have a nokia 5800 Expressmusic which does the basics well and plays music fantastically. However i’m now struggling to find an upgrade that matches that musicality. Any ideas anyone? Have nokia improved on that standard? Nobody (including Magazines) don’t seem to mention music playback now…..

  • jackie corcoran

    Shoot your mouth off! -

it might sound a bit unrealistic that i am going to be disagreeing on what you said about the motoola defy!
dont get me wrong or anything i do find it an attractive phone and would love to have one myself alhtough it is a bit pricey.. but this is for free:)
anyway-motorola defy- is said to be really good which i do truly agree with and it is-
    touchscreen
    has a camera
    downloadable gaming…
it has so many amazing things -
though it is said to be an ANDROID -
I went on google and defined the word andorid-
and it said that an android is a robot or synthetic organism designed to look and act like a human-
what i dont get is the HUMAN part-
    Humans can-
    run
    jump
    swim
dont have to be charged up !
can caryy 10 pounds of shopping a week
    can cook
    everything possibly in the dictionary-
though can this -ADROID- motorola defy do all that ^^^
if it could then i am in there and i’d buy 10 of them ! ;D
ps- it is an awesome phone! and i do want it ;)

    • Chris Price

iphones why follow the crowd, I was happy with my 7 yr old nokia playing snake!!!

  • TipTop

I wan to sound my mouth off that I hated my iphone it was not rugged it had a mind of its own . So i got rid of it. I also hate my Lg Optimus that somehow ran up a huge bill and I didn’t even go on the net the sop didn’t tell me to alter settings now it has landed me a huge huge bill. Then My son has broke one Lg after another. We really need a rough tough phone x

  • Kelly Young

I presonally think phones have too much on them nowadays, people should use there brians more, a phone’s main purpose is to phone or text someone, why do we need to be able to go on the internet 24/7? why do we constantly need to be listening to music or watching video’s i find that phones are getting overly complicated, why so much?

  • iain maciver

apple are making a fortune on there iphone and ipad but they could do these gadgets alot cheaper and not rip off there customers

  • Christine Johnson

Why can’t they make phones to last, l must be on my third phone in a year

  • Beverley

I bought a Blackberry and gave my husband my Nokia Music Xpress – what a mistake. Don’t get me wrong – the Blackberry is a fabulous phone……once you figure out how to use it. I’ve had it for three months and only today figured out how to set a photo I took as wallpaper. The Nokia was so simple to use – great battery life, everything was in a logical place and it didin’t take me 15 minutes to take a quick snap. I wonder if he’ll swap….

  • shaun doherty

I do not have a contract phone, always pay and go, why should I have one ? what is the reason behind contracts, other than tying you up for up to 2 years !!!

  • Mia Fergusson

My tip is be clear and simple , Phones4you you have confused me with this competition, i don’t understand what your asking or more so when it says “post under the phone review” thingy, well i have just looked up phones i wanted to write about and couldn’t find them. G8 prize, shame about the confusing instructions. Yes probably just me being silly , but if i find this confusing and i know that the world doesn’t evolve around me then i am sure lots more people do too.

  • Mark Hopkins

I’ve never known a phone to be so hard to set up as is the iphone, and then the problems……

  • angela graham

I like my Motorola on pay as you go. It does what I want without huge complications. It doesnt wind me up and its there when I need it. After all, who needs stress from something that is there to serve you ……

  • budi

i think in review you can write same like gsmarena.com, so the people can see the point specification, for example: i just want to know blackberry onyx9700 have 3G or not.. just a litle time, i can see just only i want to looking for..
and in the bottom, u can write the description like u write usualy and maybe can added plus/minus in that handheld..

i think that can make your website more succesfull and absolutely friendly view…

  • catherine sheridan

what id like to say is that, everyone is becoming obsessed with blackberrys and iphones! i know there new and all that, but the amount of people have one complain that theres bbm contacts have all deleted, its all i ever hear about! so many people complain about there blackberrys and people can see they arent that good but still buy one! i just think the more people that buy one, its less likely to work as so many people are using them! like facebook, facebook is starting to go s***, becos too many people are online at once?!
id also like to state, why is it that white blackberrys are so much more expensive than black? its a colour!
dont get me wrong i do like blackberrys there cute but so overrated! and i do like to have a goood moan :’)

  • Jan2009

Battery life doesn’t seem to last very long on new phones and it drives me nuts.

  • compnut

I have had several phones but always find nokia the easiest to use. I am now wanting a phone that can access the internet (as quickly as possible). Having read all the above posts not sure which way to go! The prize here, the Motorola Defy seems to tick all the boxes but, how about internet access speed. I really only want a phone for calling, texting and a bit of internet access and of course the camera. My son has a fancy phone that does everything – its a Samsung – but he’s on his 4th phone in 6 months – it just keeps going wrong. Oh what a dilemma!!!! I

  • Sharon

dont you just love it when you take a 2 year contract for your teenager and then 6 months later they want a different phone but you locked in on a contract, ho hum, nevermind!

  • suzzee langton

Mobile phones are the extension of a male appendage…..

  • Rich Mayes

impress your friends, superglue a radio control car antennae onto the end of your thumb and pretend to be inspector gadget!

  • joanne saunders

I personally think older phones are better better battery ok they may not have camera wifi etc but they are cheap they seem to last a hell of alot longer and have a much longer battery life ok not as desireable as the newer ones but they do the the job

  • Jolita

    I need it

  • AJ

I wish they could do some more bright and girly colours on the high-end smartphones instead of the boring black or silver.

  • Christian Hill

Really admire the quality of your news and reviews, find them very informative and very useful so certainly no complaints!
I have a guilty confession to admit, I don’t actually own an I Phone or any of the latest phones but a Samsung F400 from back in 2008 which has served me very well!
Apart from being able to do the usual things with mobile phones, this phone has also 1 extra feature which possibly no other phone has. It is Super Human! Unbelievably I have managed to do the expert brainy thing and dropped it in the bath not once, not twice but 3 times! And yet every time I have done so in a small matter of days or even hours, the phone is back working to its brilliant best! I think though a 4th time might be too much for it! Therefore with this I am sure you will agree that my F400 deserves an overdue retirement after putting up with so much in its small time, which is why the Motorola Defy will come along very nicely!

  • Gemzy

I like your reviews, and I have bought every phone I have ever known through phones4U. I was mugged 4 years ago, and the staff in your Birmingham new street branch were just amazing and so helpful. I just wish the staff in the Peterborough branch were as helpful :(

  • Joanne

If you’re not so flush after the festive period and want to modernise your phone on the cheap before purchasing a new one I really recommend the protective screen ‘mirror stickers’ available for around £5 a pack. Not only do they prevent the screen getting scratched they are the perfect girlie accessorie! Ideal use for quick makeup touch ups on the go and also handy for on holidays (how many times have you stayed somewhere without a mirror?!)
By far I almost always use mine after meals out for the “have I got anything in my teeth” check lol.

I’d also love to see more bright girlie colour mobiles available especially some ‘glitter’ colours!!!

  • Lucie Aiston

Not impressed with my x10 mini pro at all, have however just got my husband a Blackberry Storm and he loves it!!! Really want a HTC but any phone would be an improvement on my Sony Ericcson!

  • sue archer

I av x10 mini for months now still learning things it does everyday, wicked sound quality which is what u want when your phone rings and u in middle of shopping centre.nothing more embarassing than a poor quality sound dont matter what a phone does to me the main thing if you wana show of SOUND OF MUSIC!

  • sue archer

I also would like to say nice one to hartlepool phones 4 u staff they now how to canvass ;-) recommendation GO AV A LOOK IN YOUR LOCAL PHONE 4 U!! 321 gone

  • Will Chaloner

I’ve just got myself a sim-free Blackberry Curve 9300. I’m on T-Mobile/Orange and I’m always connected. What I love to do is type as fast as I can, when replying to texts/emails, and when the other person asks how come I’m so fast I tell them I’m using a voice to text App. Drives them mad, especially when all the grammar is spot on!

  • Janice Taylor

I love my sony k800i – its not the most up to date but it does everything I need it to do until I win another one.

  • Steve Bourke

Thoroughly recommend both the P4U web team and the Moto Defy – got a great deal for my BH, and she loves it.
Just have play with one in store – great screen, good mic with noise cancelling… just search the net to sort out the battery and you can get 2+ days with general usage!
Plus, it’s rugged, but smaller than an iPhone!

  • Steve Bourke

In fact it’s so good, I’m thinking of trying to pinch it off her for myself…

  • terina davidson

well for me learning all these different things on a phone is mind boggling.several phones later & i still only use the basics.my favorite on a phone is a camara, better quality camara would be my future no1 to look for on a phone.

  • Emma L Clarke

This may come in handy someday. Another use for a mobile phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are home, call someone at home on your mobile. Hold your mobile about a foot from your car door and have the other person at home press the unlock button on your spare keys, holding it near the phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is
no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the boot).
    Try it – it works!

  • Millieeeee

The battery on the iphone is pants WE NEED BIGGER BATTERY’S! and the camrea on the iphone could be better quality after all you are paying all that money for it. :) x

  • Jaffacake

Thank god im almost due an upgrade – Nokia n97 mini gotta be the worst piece of crap ive owned in the 20+ years ive had a mobile. Upgraded last time via Phones4U and glad I did as it went belly up within a fortnight! Replaced without question but slower than a dope smoking turtle.
Also P4U able to give me an 18 month contract on Orange for no extra cost whilst Orange refused point blank? (having been an Orange customer for around 15 years I was a tad miffed to say the least!)
Anyhoo the moral being – if youre due upgrade, forget going through the company – toddle down to your local P4U – no waiting for hours on shabby ‘customer service’, and a great deal locally…cant say fairer than that…

  • William Gould

My very old Nokia makes and receives calls and texts, and the battery holds it charge for over a week. I do love reading about all these new phones though, and what they can and cannot do, and especially how much they cost!

  • Cheryl Kean

make batterys that last! I go to bed with my phone to play poker and after an hour its dead! really annoys me!

  • Belinda Matthews

I wish I phones where cheaper they are too expensive for most people

  • ANDY TAYLOR

The cost of mobile phone usage is so expensive compared to other countries

  • Dorrion Etienne

    phones 4u is da bomb!

  • Angie

Looking good but needs some snazzy designer covers

  • vicky

well, i cant comment on any phone since my lg broke im currently using a phone that is worth a whole pound, i know its tragic. it has buttons and everything and my 2 yr old daughter cant understand why she cant flick through the pictures by touching the screen….. oh dear!

  • Trudi Walsh

The only thing I have a grumble about is prices of mobiles, some of the prices are just ridiculous!

  • Geoff Wickens

    my mobiles just gone walkabout

  • pam cooper

moan moan why in westfield / shopping center cannot get reception on phone its a blooming annoying

  • Hayley Todd

First of all, I love the reviews on the site but I do question whether any phone store’s reviews are impartial as I often wonder whether the phones with the ‘better’ reviews are the ones the phone store gets a higher percentage commission for selling. I always try to use impartial review sites before buying a new phone as that way you find out exactly what the users of the phones have to say about them.
Secondly, I have an iphone and to be honest I absolutely love it! It is the best phone I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a fair few)! The battery life could be longer to be honest, but I have other friends with smart phones and the battery power on their phones is also pretty limited. I have had a HTC previously but much prefer the iphone! Sorry, personal choice! I really don’t know though why everyone feels they have to slate the iphone! Many smart phones are mega expensive, not just the iphone, so why is it just this one that gets the grief! Personally I wouldn’t go back to a HTC after having the iphone, but that is my personal choice and I wouldn’t now slate HTC because I prefer apple!

  • amanda

    want it need it :)

  • Jenny

You still need to keep an eye on those ring tone numbers and what type of contract your kids are signing up for alot of them still cost about £4.50 per week :0)xx

  • A.A.B

iam still using nokia,it s easy to use and the price ok. Wonder why other smart phone expensive^

  • A.A.B

  • Fynn Gleaves

Arrrggghhh I so love this phone and have to have it, give it to me NOW!!! aha

  • Ben Brennan-Doyle

The Xperia X10 Mini Is By Far One Of The S******* Phones Ive Ever Come Across, It’d Be Better Off With Duracell Bateries as The Battery Life Is Shocking. Adding To That It Always Freezes and the App Market Is Down More Than An Emo, I Dont Want To Get Started On The Bluetooth.
I Am Furious With This Phone, Ive Threw It At The Wall Once Before :^)
I Could Really Do With that Defy Phone Because Im At Serious Risk Of Throwing This Phone Out Of The Window :^)

  • lorna anderson

im still using my really old phone i would love to win a new one!

  • krithi

    hi………
guys work on the simplifying blackberry and its applications.. too difficult to work on.. major reason for most of them not picking one when they have an option with a lot more better features also.n also the designing very poor all your phones look almost similar :P

  • Christina

Cant really comment as never own a smartphone. Well, just yet.
Have a good idea. Let me win one from your comp, and I’ll be able to write about the phone *wink*

  • LISA

smart phones are taking over there everywhere

  • Chris Lyon

The best thing about my iphone is the Otterbox defender case. I don’t know why no shops stock them, they only seem to be avaliable online. As soon as they invent a submersible case I’m there.

  • MARK

    i love android!

  • RICHARD

phone do everything these days maybe they could go to work for me

  • Thelma

when will they invent one with a everlasting battery

  • THOMAS

the large screens are good for me as i can see the writing

  • Jo Hewlett

I think I’ve wasted about 2 months trying to sync my new android with Facebook and my phonebook contacts, downloading apps that are not downloadable, missing photo opportunities due to the delay in snapping the piccie, telling my 2 year old off for downloading poker and casino apps while playing toddler app games and charging my phone every few hours! Still love it though.

  • Charlotte Blampied

You don’t need a smartphone! Surely the point of a mobile is to call/text your friends? Computers are perfectly capable of doing all the technical whizz and using Facebook is not the most important attribute for mobiles. I chose my phone purely on aesthetics, talk time, unlimited text contract and because it is awesome at getting signal which has literally been a lifesaver.

  • Stacey

I want a HTC Desire but for now I’m stuck with my Samsung tocco lite which has THE most annoying touchscreen in the world. Wouldn’t recommend :/

  • Alistair Richardson

Would love this phone, I need this phone so long as it’s not on the crappy Virgin network.

  • Terence

I love my “galaxy s” but why on earth can I not connect it to my laptop using the samsung Kies program. Have tried with both xp and a vista laptop but no joy. I seem to be stuck on android 2.1, as the only way to update to froyo is via Kies. Despite enjoying my phone, this is enough to ensure I never buy another samsung phone again!

  • sylvia spall

bigger batteries would be great but would be ecstatic to win your latest competiton,

  • Jodie Taylor

touchscreen is the worst pile of poop invented

  • aaron myers

my phone actually mackes phone calls, mad init!

  • Vicki Church

would love to win need to update phone love new technology its great

My husband recently changed his phone in one of your stores. The girl who served us was really helpful and pleasant and explained things in basic terms for us techno phobs. It makes a change from some of the other stores we visited looking at phones when they made it seem like they were doing you a favour by speaking to you. Also like the fact you didn’t have to pay by credit card to get a deal unlike some other stores.

I’ve become a big convert to smartphones – it’s so easy to check something quickly on the internet with them or see if you’ve got any new emails.

I do love my apple Iphone 4, but I don’t like the way you have to sign up to a contract for 2 years – bring back the days of 1 year contracts!!!

Samsung phones are usually affordable and quite robust.

If you want a cheaper version of the Blackberry’s, go for a Nokia C3. They look very similar and they are robust.. I know mines been dropped a good few times.. they have all msn, facebook, email features too.. Cheaper option is just as good!! :)

Have recently just bought an iphone 4 and for the extortionate money I paid for it i sincerely would not recommend it!! The signal is useless!!!!!! I spend the majority of my time moving around the house to send a text…never had this problem with the blackberry!!!

I’d love to know whats a good replacement for my motorola u9 – which the powers that be have decided to discontinue. I love mine and bought it when it first came out, but it’s starting to suffer from all my texting now and I’m totally hacked off that I can’t get another one and haven’t got a clue what to get instead.

i have got the blackberry 9300 on a contract from phones4u, got a deal better than one orange could offer me, even though ive been with them for years. My handset is also unlocked which has saved me £20 and the possibility of going faulty. Problem now is that my 16year old son wants a Motorola Defy and im only 4 months into a 2year contract. So please let me win one for him otherwise im going to have to fork out £300 on one, and we don’t want that do we!!!!

I’d like to see phones move in the direction of personal computers, where the brand doesn’t matter, the accessories aren’t proprietary and nobody is giving you a hard time about putting what you want on there. I’m sure that, eventually, it will happen. It’s no less important a device, after all.

Why has eveyone forgotten about Nokia?????

  • carly

That is one bad ass phone , i currently am using the nokia n96 and have had nothing but constant problems with it , the one bad thing that is annoying is the battery life its less than a day and its just not what i need , i need long battery life.
and phones 4u had system errors yesterday lol and promised me an new phone at a certain price but then called me back to inform me it was an error , was pretty gutted.
