Samsung Galaxy S4 & HTC One Nexus Editions Go On Sale

HTC One Nexus

Handsets come fully unlocked and 4G enabled

The Nexus editions of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One are finally available to order from the US Google Play Store.

Both handsets had been confirmed in recent weeks, with the HTC One getting the nod after several denials from its Taiwanese company. Having been announced at the Google I/O conference the Samsung device did have a head start, but it seems they will ship at the same time, according to AndroidCentral.

In demand

The pair have generated a lot of interest since their announcements, with a stock version of Android 4.2.2 the main attraction for customers and developers. Despite having launched a white version of the LG Nexus 4 at its June conference, Google’s decision to re-skin the leading flagships has proved even more popular.

It will be the first time the company has taken an existing handset and given it the stock UI treatment, and despite the mostly positive reception HTC’s BlinkFeed homescreen has been met with, demand will likely be strong for the new variants.

Despite this the devices won’t be cheap, with the HTC One Nexus costing $599.99 (£403) and the Samsung Galaxy S4 Nexus $649.99 (£436.39). Both come SIM free and unlocked to any network.

There is yet to be any information regarding a UK release, however, so we will have to save our pennies and sit tight for now.  In the meantime, you can watch AndroidCentral’s hands-on with both devices, as well as the white Nexus 4.
