Mid-Range Sony Xperia SP Leaks

Sony Xperia SP

Upcoming Xperia addition could debut at Mobile World Congress

Images of a handset said to be the Sony Xperia SP – previously codenamed HuaShan – have leaked on German site USP-Forum.de.

It is thought that the Xperia SP will be a mid-range addition to Sony’s ever-expanding Xperia range, which includes devices such as the Xperia SXperia T and Xperia Z.

Xperia SP specs

Sony-loving website, XperiaBlog, has proffered a slew of supposed specifications including:

  • 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • 4.6-inch 720p display
  • 8 megapixel camera
  • 8GB of internal storage expandable via microSD card
  • Aluminum build with plastic back casing
  • 155g  weight

Mobile World Congress no show?

Sony doesn’t have any official events planned for Mobile World Congress 2013, however, XperiaBlog seems to think that the Japanese manufacturer will use the conference in Barcelona to show off this new device.

There’s only a matter of days to go now until Mobile World Congress kicks off, so we shouldn’t have to wait too long to see if Sony pulls the Xperia SP out of the bag.

Stay tuned and we’ll bring you all the MWC-related news as it happens.
