iPhone 4S Tips ‘N’ Tricks: Using iMessage

iMessage

Do you like sending loads of text messages but often get charged for going over your allowance before the end of the month? Now you can use iMessage to send messages over Wi-Fi or 3G to other iOS 5 users. Here’s how you do it:

  • Go to Settings, select Messages, then move the slider next to iMessage to On.
  • To start using iMessage, just begin composing a text message as usual.
  • Your iPhone 4S will automatically detect if the person you’re sending the message to is using iMessage when you hit send.
  • iMessages appear in blue, and three dots will appear when the other person is typing.
  • If an iMessage can’t be sent, your phone will simply send a standard text message instead. This will appear in green.
