HTC Myst said to come pre-loaded with Facebook and Instagram

HTC has partnered with Facebook to create a ‘Facebook phone’ known as the HTC Myst, said to be hitting shelves this spring.

According to the @evleaks Twitter account (writing for tech site UnwiredView), the HTC Myst device will have a mid-range spec sheet including a 4.3-inch display.

Facebook phone history

This isn’t the first time HTC has released a Facebook phone – the Taiwanese manufacturer previously created the QWERTY-fied HTC ChaCha that had a dedicated Facebook button.

The new HTC Myst will supposedly take the Facebook integration aspect even further, with a preloaded Facebook app, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, and some other official Facebook applications.

New specs

So what will this new HTC Myst device be like? Rumoured specs of the new mid-ranger include:

  • 4.3-inch display
  • 1.5GHz Snapdragon dual-core processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 16GB of storage (no microSD expansion)
  • 5 megapixel rear-camera
  • 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera
  • LTE connectivity
  • Android Jelly Bean 4.2

HTC hasn’t confirmed the HTC Myst as of yet, but @evleaks is well-known for outing handsets prior to their release, and the time seems right with the social network recently announcing a redesign.
