If you consider yourself a bit of a technophobe when it comes to online maps, then Google may just have come up with the perfect solution to your navigational woes.
The intrepid search giant will be holding an online course this month during which students can bone up on Google Maps and Google Earth, turning them from a technological dunce to a mapping wizard in no time at all.
“Community of learners”
According to its official blog, Mapping With Google aims to “improve your use of new and existing features of Google’s mapping tools” with both tools available depending on preference. The tutelage also includes a section on how to create your own maps/tours within each program.
The course will feature a heavy social media element, and users will be able to “collaborate with a worldwide community of learners” through Google+ Hangouts and the like, but perhaps the most attractive clause is that anyone taking part will get a sneak peak at the new Google Maps unveiled at last month’s I/O conference.
Mapping With Google takes place from 10 – 24 June and can be completed at the users own pace. All you need is a computer with internet, so getting map-savvy couldn’t be easier. To find out more, watch the video below.
