Google Now For iOS Gets Significant Update

Voice commands now greatly improved

Google has released an update for its Google Now app on iOS, bringing it closer in line with the Android equivalent and giving it a whole host of new features.

The personal assistant recently underwent a facelift ahead of Android KitKat’s release, bringing on board advanced scheduling and reminder capabilities. These tweaks also included advanced voice commands, with users now able to wake the function with a simple “OK, Google.”

Widespread functionality

And now these features have made it to iOS devices alongside what the company calls a “redesigned and simplified homepage”. Reminders can now be set from the search bar, and additional cards including increased public transport scheduling are now readily available.

The voice command function will likely grab most attention, and the app can now do everything from store appointments, remind you about an upcoming meeting or to call your Dad, all with hands-free functionality. However, said functionality will only be available for the iPhone 4S and above.
