Digital Distractions: The Best Of 2013

Christmas

With Christmas drawing ever closer and the year coming to an end, we’re feeling a bit reflective at Phones 4u HQ. And, with that in mind, we thought it’d be fun to go back through all this year’s Digital Distractions and pick out our favourites.

As you know we’ve produced some right bangers over the last 12 months, so it’s been no mean feat, but here they are in all their glory. Enjoy them, and get ready for a hilarious 2014.

The Pixar Theory

Pixar

Everyone loves a good conspiracy theory, but this one has to be the mother of them all. Whilst not technically a conspiracy, this highly elaborate yet plausible idea suggests that all Pixar films take place in the same universe and are connected. It gets a bit ridiculous at times but stick with it, it blew our minds.

Under The Sea

From Pixar to Disney, and this creative little ditty remained stuck in our heads for a fair while. Performed by The Bottle Boys, it goes to show what you can bring to life with a few empty bottles, a swimming pool, a song from The Little Mermaid and a lot of practice. There’s also several killer beards on show, which is always a bonus.

100 Riffs

This is, quite simply, one of the greatest things we’ve ever seen. One man, one guitar, 100 riffs in 12 minutes – it’s as good as it sounds. Created by the Chicago Music Exchange and featuring the talents of Alex Chadwick, it’s the perfect journey through some of the best music ever put to tape.

The Web Archive

Internet

Although time travelling may not be physically possible, we found you can get pretty close with The Web Archive. Stick in the url to a webpage of old and, provided it’s not been deleted or something, you can view it as it was ‘back in the day’ (sorry).

A Capella Christmas

We couldn’t have an end of year list without a Christmas entry, and this is definitely great for getting you in the spirit. If you love a vocal harmony as much as we do, these lads and their take on The Twelve Days of Christmas will be right up your festive alley.
