Amazon Phone Will Feature 3D Screen

Bookseller’s smartphone plans also point towards several devices

Amazon is reportedly working on a smartphone that will come complete with a 3D display, according to sources in the know.

A report by fancy-pants business newspaper the Wall Street Journal states that the online retailer is developing two smartphones and an audio-only streaming device. One of the smartphones will feature a glasses-free 3D display and there is even talk of retina-tracking technology being built into the device which would give a 3D effect at different viewing angles.

Rumbles in the jungle

Details on the other handset are somewhat thin on the ground, but it is expected that this will be a more affordable variant.

The streaming audio player also sounds like an interesting proposition that will presumably rely on Amazon’s MP3 marketplace.

Although rumours of new Amazon devices have been floating around for what seems like forever, the authority of the WSJ shouting about this makes it a bit more believable than the usual wild speculation.
