A Star Is Born? Galaxy S III Could Be On The Cards After Samsung Sends Out Press Invites
Samsung could be about to launch the eagerly anticipated Galaxy S II successor, the Galaxy SII, at a media event in France next month, if new reports are to be believed.
According to Gallic Android blog FrAndroid (we see what they’ve done there) the Korean smartphone giant has sent out invitations to various French journalists requesting their attendance at an event to be held at an unnamed venue on 22 March.
No other details were provided but considering that a press confrence is being held so soon after Mobile World Congress – an event at which it’s previously been said will not feature the unveiling of the Galaxy S III - many within the industry believe the device will be launched there.
However, whilst all the signs would point towards a launch, it’s worth bearing in mind that Samsung usually chose to hold its big mobile events in New York and, like rivals Apple, tend to stick to tradition.
Despite this though, Samsung have previously intimated that it will launch the S III before the summer, and so there is a reasonable chance that this media event could be the place where it eventually appears.
The Galaxy S II is expected to run Ice Cream Sandwich feature an HD Super AMOLED Plus screen be powered by a by a quad-core processor and have LTE and NFC capabilities.
